as a Dramaturg I specialize in puppets and projections as well as dramaturgy for immersive audiences, game-play in performance, and breaking down ableist expectations.

as an award-winning Theatre and Media Maker I edit film; write plays; direct theatre, performance art, and web-series; code live-responsive performance systems; and design projection for live performance.

as a Writer I publish essays on animate technology and theatre: from immersive, experiential theatre making to the performance of things across theatre history. My plays have been honored with workshops at Oregon Shakespeare Festival and ACT Seattle; as well as awards, most recently a Finalist for the Judith Royer Excellence in Playwriting Award.

as a Scholar and Educator I champion and practice interdisciplinarity with media arts; publish on theatre history and theory; and teach courses on Performances of Things, Theatrical Development with Digital Media, Global Theatre Histories, Script Analysis and Dramaturgy for Design, Power and Popular Culture, Women Writers and Performers of the Americas, Performance for Social Change, and Dramatic Writing.  I helped found the CSUSM theatre department in 2019 after earning my PhD in Theatre and Performance Studies from Brown University in 2014.

I currently teach at UCLA School of Theatre, Film, and Television and UCR Department of Theatre, Film, and Digital Production.
